Commenting Guidelines

We have set up Southend Libraries Chat to be a welcoming and safe space to discuss books, music, films, TV and all things libraries with you. We invite you to engage in lively conversation and debate. Please help us by following the guidelines below and reporting problematic posts to our moderators.

We ask that you remain respectful of other users of the blog at all times.

This blog is specifically for the discussion of books, films, TV and all things libraries with you but there may be times when either you or we would rather the conversation wasn't carried out in public. If you do have a question or comment about our library service that you wish to be discussed privately please don't hesitate to email us at library@southend.gov.uk or phone us: 01702 215011.

Do:
  • Be polite, even if you disagree.
  • Frame comments as your opinion.
  • Keep comments relevant.
  • Indicate when your comment includes spoilers.
  • Express your opinion even if you didn't like the book, film, music!

Don’t:
  • Use profanity or make pornographic remarks.
  • Use hateful, racist, or homophobic language, or make comments that could be interpreted as being of that nature.
